How to Use the THSR Pass or Ticket
After booking a Taiwan High Speed Rail ticket or pass, you need to book a seat online (required to board a train). Take note of the following steps and reminders:
1. THSR Tickets
- Check the Redeem Code that you’ll receive after booking.
- Visit the Taiwan High Speed Rail website and click Manage in the upper right corner of the screen. (The redeem code must be used to reserve a seat within 89 days, starting from the next day of the payment date.)
- Enter the Redeem code and your passport number. (Customers who purchased multiple tickets will receive more than 1 code. Please fill in the first code with participant 1’s passport number.)
- Click Reserve and choose your departure time and seat to finalize your reservation.
- Click Return to order and enter [My reservation information] to check your Reservation number (or PNR). Present your reservation and valid ID to collect your physical tickets.

Yes! However, the pass and one-way ticket offers listed above are not available to Taiwanese nationals and those who hold long-term residencies. (Passengers who hold dual citizenship must present their non-Taiwanese passport with a RECENT valid entry document to Taiwan.)
2. Is the THSR train ticket or pass refundable?
Yes. In most cases, THSR passes and tickets are refundable if they have not been redeemed or exchanged. Make sure to check the guidelines and reminders before booking.
3. How I can change my seat or departure schedule?
Those who wish to change their seat or departure time may log back into the THSR website and make amendments to their reservation (change at least 30 minutes before the departure time).
